Andy explains customs in China

Every country has its own customs. So when you travel to China the first thing you should do is learn the local customs. The following tips are mostly common sense, but to avoid giving offence foreign visitors may find them useful.

To begin with, in a more formal situation you should use the word “Mr” to address men, or “Mrs” for women. In addition, you should know that their last name is very important for them.

Secondly, when you are invited to someone’s home it is significant for you to bring some gift for the hosts .Then he will say “No do not bother” or “Why did you bring a gift ? or “You are too polite”.

Last but not least, some people in China always shake hands when they meet someone for the first time.Because it is polite. As a matter of fact, in the south of China you should take off your shoes when you come into someone’s home, on the other hand in north of China you do not need do this.
